Butterfly on Queen Anne's Lace
Painted in three stages. The first stage involved applying a blue wash adding salt which, provided the paint consistency is right, results in beautiful textures.. Once dried details were added in the form of the individual tiny flowers and buds. Subtle accents were added with pearlescent paint, which give a beautiful shimmer.
The butterfly was added in the last stage using gouache.
