Original artwork description:

Painted on-site in my yard in Minneapolis. Features a Monarch butterfly soaring over a patch of multi-colored Lily flowers in shades of red, orange, and burgundy, accented by wild creeping bellflowers in lavender purple. Grass and foliage in the background are indicated by streaks and drips of deep green, blue-green, and yellow-green paint.
Paint on the butterfly and flower petals has a thick texture and was painted with palette knife.

Painted in oil over casein paint on gallery wrapped canvas. Painting wraps around the sides, and requires no frame.
