I created this piece by painting four small abstract paintings using both watercolour and acrylic paint, on Artist quality card and Watercolour paper. By combining varying shades of blues, green-blues, teal and adding silver accents, this piece has beautiful depth and movement and iridescence. The butterflies are each individual and vary in shade, size and texture. The visibility of paintbrush marks add to the uniqueness of this artwork. You can be captivated by one single butterfly and their relationship to one another.

The butterflies rise gently from the bottom of the picture fanning upwards, casting beautiful shadows.
You can look at this piece from any angle and see new shades and shadows. The box frame allows butterflies to be carefully layered, and for their raised wings to create movement.

Every butterfly is painted cut, folded and glued with precision.
