This lovely old pub serves delicious food and ales which we sampled during our visit. Pin Mill is a small hamlet on the River Orwell and is home to many house boats and Thames Barges two of which are pictured here moored in front of the pub. I drew a rough sketch of the scene from the fore shore and then completed this more considered 'line and wash' painting later.
The riverside are area is very low lying and the fore shore virtually flat so when the tide comes in it frequently floods the narrow road on the right, just out of the picture.

Windsor & Newton artist quality watercolours on Bockingford 200lb paper.
