Atmospheric dark and moody urban scene of abandoned burnt-out car under a railway arch.
From my early years in London. My first place that I moved into when I came here was a flat-share in Bromley-By-Bow, East London back in 2000. I did a lot of walking around getting to know the neighbourhood as I always do when moving to a new location. One very much recurring theme whilst exploring Bow back in 2000 was burnt out cars, and I found this very fascinating. Ths image is from a railway arch entering the Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park and was shot on my old Bronica SQ-As 6x6 camera with Ilford FP4 Plus 125 iso Black & White negative film. Processed at home in my flat-share by using a cupboard in the hallway for loading it onto the cannister.
I always loved the image and I did some prints of it in the darkroom when I was assisting a photographer. I recently rediscovered it when I looked through my archive for another image I needed to get scanned for a customer and digitised it so I can share it with you all.
Beautifully Giclée printed on Hahnemuhle Pearl paper - a slightly textured 285 gsm. semi-gloss paper which holds more detail with punchier colours than a matt paper, whilst maintaining a illustrative/ painted feel.
Technology: Epson UltraChrome HDR Wide Gamut Inks with archival life expectancy: 40 years daylight, 200 years in dark.
All prints are professionally printed to ensure the absolute best quality and consistency. I pride myself in strict quality control, hence I only use top professional printers based here in London, that I am content use very strict colour consistency checks and use the very best of printing techniques available. This of course greatly increases production costs, but give me and my customers the peace of mind that I deliver a supreme quality artwork.
Hahnemuhle Pearl - 285 gsm. semi-gloss finish.
