Burning the Midnight Oil / Night Inspiration
Owls... we all associate owls with wisdom and prophecy at some time or other. Rather than intellectual wisdom, though, owls are connected with the wisdom of the soul and intuitive knowledge, ability to see what others do not see beyond the veil of deception, illusion and masks - the real meaning of someone’s action or state of mind
The owl sees in the dark and is often seen as mysterious, mostly because many owls are strictly nocturnal and humans have always found night to be full of mystery and the unknown, which includes magic, mystery, and ancient knowledge.
My picture is an Allegory of Night Inspiration and Creativity.
Its well-known that a lot of creative people love "to burn the midnight oil", to work at night, when there's nothing to disturb their solitude, when they don't have to deal with interruptions in the form of people, calls, texts and life, in general.
No wonder majority of them were "night owls" - all-nighters.
The background noise of endless activity around you like cars passing by, people talking and whatnot becomes completely muted at night - so much so you can hear a pin drop. If that is not the perfect atmosphere to work or chill, I don't know what is.
The sensitivity of creative process... They simply can’t start working until they can expect a couple of hours without being distracted. It’s just not worth constructing the whole model of your creation in your head and then having it torn down half an hour later – somebody once likened this to constructing a house out of expensive crystal glass and as soon as someone distracts you, it all comes barrelling down and shatters into a thousand pieces.
"Serving the Muses Not Tolerate Fuss"...
Night Inspiration...
The whole night belongs to you...
A silent flight in the silence of night...
