Encaustic, cold wax and oil painting were combined and built up in layers to produce this rich and textured sky/seascape painting on wooden panel.

Painted from imagination and emotions inspired by watching many a sunset by the sea.

The encaustic wax and cold wax mediums which are mixed with oil paints or pigments are produced in the studio. The cold wax medium is made from pure beeswax, damar resin, mixed with low odour thinners and purified linseed oil. Encaustic medium is made using beeswax with damar resin.

All layers are fused with applying heat. The painting is finished with a buffed and polished surface. The mixture of beeswax and damar resin give this painting a rich lustre and sheen with a stable surface finish.

Painting comes unframed (but can be framed upon request) and ready to hang along with certificate of authenticity.
