Original artwork description:

pen and acrylic ink on handmade thai mulberry paper (kada sa), deckled edge, 8 x 11 in., 20 x 28 cm.
The painting is inspired by the typical Thai Buddha images I see Bangkok , I place I regularly return to.
The simple finish of this piece gives the project a very parchment feel, old and classic. A slight staining and yellowing has occurred to this piece over time of being exposed to the elements that just adds depth to the painting.
The paper I use is a traditional mulberry paper handmade in Thailand. It’s a thick parchment type paper, strong yet pliable. I have the paper made to this size to get the deckled edges which adds to the textural effect. The close up picture is to get a feel for the texture and brush strokes of the painting.
Interested to have your idea painted in this style? Maybe a fave portrait, people or activities, a storyboard collage from a recent travel, or event? Contact me.
Please note that you can purchase in one order up to 3 paintings of this same size or smaller to be included in the same 1 shipping fee.
Packaging for my small paintings like this one is sealed in plastic sleeve, sealed in a padded hard plastic file case, and in an envelope .
About framing this painting.
When considering framing bear in mind to not cover up the deckled edges. This is one of the specialties of the painting, one of its charms. It is best displayed framed with a cut mat board around the painting so as not to cover the edges, thereby putting some space between the art and the glass and bringing depth to the framed art. It can also be framed simply with backing board and pressed with glass over the front without causing damage.
