Original artwork description:

This is an artwork I recently made while busking, I decided I wanted to paint busking, while busking. The pathway is the people passing by, the water is the fountain behind me and I wanted to turn the crossing into thoughts (of bubbles). The goal was to incorporate ideas from old artworks like the water from, ‘Unexpected’, the crossing from ‘Crossing the Desert’ but to my surprised I thought up a new idea while painting in front of people and decided to put the cowhide pattern on the bubbles. If I were alone painting I would have ventured further into this idea so expect it to pop up in an artwork soon. A woman didn’t read the room and sat to my right for longer than I liked and that’s why the right is more bare than the left.

I’ve decided not to varnish the artwork as I’m not sure if I want to paint over it since it’s made of acrylic and I prefer oils. The artwork’s concept was also compromised due to busking conditions so it’s not as finished as I’d liked. Video of the busking adventure on my Patreon if you’re interested! There’s no timelapse of this artwork but there will be an artventure video. I’ve also decided that this is the first of an idea I’ll work on for the next year, one budget friendly artwork a month. I price my artworks so people won’t feel compelled to throw them out when their decor changes (and increasing skill), so if you buy one of the budget friendly artworks please show the same respect as if you bought it for $700. The rest will be on cardboard, like Edvard Munch’s Scream.

This one will be varnished on sale so expect a week delay for postage, it’ll be sold with a certificate of authentication and ready to hang.

Materials used:

Water soluble oils
