Original artwork description:

On a wet, dark night, I walked around Brussels. A place of memories, of times long ago when I was a child in Luxembourg, and Brussels was the nearest large city. Memories of Art Deco train stations, grey in the drizzle, of the intoxicating smells of syrup waffles, fresh, crispy chips and ground coffee. As I walked that night, I came to the gates of the Central Station. At this hour, it was almost empty, the light visible through the high windows, creating a sense of mystery and contrast. The work is a great souvenir of the city, a perfect gift. I decided to create a painting using a very restricted set of colours.
The work is on a canvas board of 9 and 3/4 inches x 9 and 3/4 inches, 1/8 inch thick, and therefore easy to frame.
Texture has been added to create extra depth.

Materials used:

acrylic, card and canvas board
