This painting is a part of the 'Neighbourhood' series. I walk past a part of the Brooklands circuit everyday. It was a motor racing circuit about 100 years ago and now most part of the circuit is covered with moss and surrounded by tall trees. When I imagine the contrast between the present and the past, the stillness of the space feels strangely surreal.
Light and texture are central themes in my paintings. I find calmness in the details. focusing on the light and texture allows me to stay present and reconnect with the tranquillity of the world.
