Done in a contemporary realistic style, this still-life skull was painted with a palette knife and ink brayer to achieve texture and depth. The skull is significant because underneath the skin, we all look the same. This person suffered injuries during his/her lifetime such as a broken jaw, but that's all we know about it. This person could be any race, gender, religion, etc. All we know is that he/she was human.
