Leader was one of the largest (110 tonnes) of the Brixham sailing trawlers, known as the ‘Big Sloops’ , despite their Ketch rig. She is the largest and oldest of the three boats of the Trinity Sailing Foundation fleet, based in Brixham. She was built in 1892 at W. A. Gibbs’ yard at Galmpton on the River Dart in Devon. [442]
This piece is painted in acrylics on textured paper, particularly suitable for export to countries with restrictive import conditions for wood products. It is easily mounted on board or framed with a backing board.
