'When there's light shining on a tree, that tree takes on different meaning. If there's no light at all it just looks dead. If you look at light as godly meaning, the world comes alive in a certain way.' Matisyahu - (no I've never heard of him either, but it's a relevant point!)

We had some fabulous autumn colours this year, and they provided some spectacular scenes, like this one about 15 minutes away from the Maison d'Art near the town of Brioux sur Boutonne. I painted this one on site over two sessions, and later put some final adjustments on it in the studio. It's all about light, and how it transformed the forrest for the time it was coming through the thicket on the left.
