Original artwork description:

An original, handmade paper collage of the historic Brighton Palace Pier, an iconic landmark on the Brighton seafront since 1899

This fun and quirky collage captures not only the beautiful grade II Victorian Pier construction but also, by using a variety of paper materials, it reflects it's history too.

The collage includes local maps, seaside song lyrics and historical text about the Prince Regent who adopted Brighton as his seaside retreat after it became fashionable for it's sea bathing in the eighteenth century.
A closer look at the helter skelter reveals a small map of the Isle of Wight which can apparently be seen from the top of the ride on a clear day.

The posters on the railings advertise the traditional seaside food; fish and chips & Brighton Rock (the traditional sweet and famous novel). They also picture the birds, Starlings who roost on the piers. Their spectacular mumurations can be viewed all along the seafront.
Finally, of course no picture of Brighton would be complete without some seagulls to oversee it all!

The picture comes FRAMED in a simple white, wood frame with ivory mount. A description of the contents of the collage is signed and attached to the back.
If you would like to purchase this picture UNFRAMED please make an offer of £600 and email me for unframed postage costs.
