Original artwork description:

Lumphanan was known locally as the center of the universe. We lived here for some ten years we could look out of our front window and see the mountain at Cla-na ben without any other houses in sight. It was shortly before we left Woodhill that I came to realize the claim for the center of the universe. A neighbor called late one evening to say that the 'Northern lights' were on display. When we went outside, it was like being at the centre of an endless cathedral of violet and blue sky. It really was magnificant.

Materials used:

Artist quality watercolours, W&N, Schminke, Daniel Smith
