Original artwork description:

This is a miniature 6"x8" gouache sketch painted en plein air - a French term for painting outside on location. I admired the beautiful Ahwahnee Bridge spanning the Merced River, as well as the fall colors of trees and their reflections in the river.
Materials used to create this artwork: gouache painting on Multimedia Artboard. Gouache is very closely related to watercolor. It uses the same gum Arabic binder, but has more pigment which is not ground as finely as watercolor. Professional gouache colors are so opaque and vibrant, because they have the highest pigment load of any other painting medium.

The painting is unframed and will require a frame to hang on the wall.
No glass needed when framing, as the painting is protected with coats of archival varnish. Images showing the artwork framed in home interiors are for presentation purposes only. Frame is NOT included.
