Breakwater is a small 8 x 8” acrylic painting on gesso panel. It was inspired by sitting on the beach on a glorious afternoon watching the tide come in on a recent visit to the south coast of England.
Christopher Witchall’s seascape painting captures the light and open spaces of the English coastline. His unsentimental approach to his subjects combine traditional painting techniques with the realism and cool detachment of photography.
