Original artwork description:

I was trying to capture that euphoric moment when you break through the surface after swimming under the water. That lung bursting moment when you can't swim any further, the warm feeling of the sun on your face as you gulp in the air.

My swimming series are all about the physical memories I have from a childhood spent in the water as much as possible. I am always chasing the feeling of long hot summers both as a child and from years spent travelling.

Materials used:

Acrylic on box frame canvas
