"Breaking out of the shackles"
Imagine that one person controls your oxygen.
It seems to you that oxygen is negligible, and this wonderful person shares his reserves with you. You're willing to do anything for him.
You are in an ocean of pain and uncertainty, there is only darkness, evil, suffering, and HIM around.
You are on your knees in front of him, and he measures your oxygen for it.
You fulfill his every whim, and he gives you a portion of oxygen without moving a finger. And why would he do anything for you? He already shares precious reserves of air necessary for breathing.
There is less and less oxygen, its price for each serving is getting higher. You start to suffocate because you are not able to meet his requirements, and then he measures you even less.
This vicious circle ends with the fact that he completely ceases to supply you, and goes to look for the one that will better cope with his satisfaction. You are alone, on your knees, suffocating in a sea of hysteria, pain, and longing. But he's gone and won't be back.
There's no reason to kneel anymore.
And straightening up, you suddenly realize that all this time you were standing in a puddle.
That only on your knees you did not reach the air, and there is enough oxygen for everyone with prosperity. That the air for which you humiliated yourself is nothing more than a pitiful remnant of what he himself breathed with a full chest, standing straight. Suddenly you notice other people who are ready to help you. They were always there, HE just kept you isolated from them.
And fear, pain, longing… They haven't disappeared, you're still standing in a puddle. But they no longer fill your whole world, and you are able to cope with them on your own.
