Original artwork description:
Acrylic painting Depicting light breaking through the clouds at the north end of the Isle of Skye and illuminating on the sea below.
Painted in my studio from some sketches I did a while back at the scene.
A slightly larger than usual painting for me I felt the size of the canvas should reflect the grandeur of the scene.
Here I have traditionally painted the scene and on drying I have applied a coloured glaze to parts of it. Subsequently I then removed areas of the glaze to reveal light underneath. Always a bit of a hit or miss affair but I think its worked here.
I have protected the painting with two coats of varnish.
