Running between the islands of Jura and Scarba on The Scottish West coast is the dangerous stretch of water known as Corryvreckan. When the tide and wind run contrary to each other enormous overfalls form and the safest passage is close in to the Scarba shore…a place to be avoided under such conditions, but on a quiet day a useful short-cut from Crinan or Ardfern out towards the outer Hebrides.
