Breaking Away oil on canvas
I used a lot of thick oil colours on this canvas, mostly painting with a knife contrasting with some brush blending to soften and add contrast. It's a stormy painting although I've not attempted an abstract stormy seascape. The feeling is of change, breaking away from a life we thought would continue unto the endless horizon. Friends, careers, interests, those we loved. The process of realising & then acting on & responding to these changes is rarely straightforward. Pieces are broken, falling in heaps until we rise again.
This painting is on a stretched canvas with a hanging wire attached to the back the edges are painted it's ready to hang unframed.
