The painting depicts a little boy holding and examining wooden cubes in his hands. For this composition I chose an "olive green" color for the background with red cubes.

Red as the main color and green, composed of yellow and blue, are the perfect balance - one warm, the other cool. The balance between them adds to the calm atmosphere.

I painted this painting in a 'loose painterly style', which is my preffered one, because it is expressive - more about feeling than detail.
