Original artwork description:

Wandering around the eastern side of the Sangre De Cristo mountains, I discovered this idyllic box canyon. Pines. rocks and a little steam made it a pleasant oasis to visit. Another watercolor in a series I have started called Canyonlands. Throughout my life I have been inspired by the magnificent landscape of the west, especially those special places where the rock soars.

Another of the painting-a-day series of watercolors 12" x 16" image size with 16" x 20" mat, ready to frame.
Open skies, storms coming in, sweeping vistas, mountains and grasslands all call for broad strokes and bold light

Materials used:

watercolor on arches paper
