Artwork description:

My etching depicts my love for intricate, gestural line rendering experimenting with an anarchic use of colour.

To quote Forest Gump:- "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get" suggests that there is an element of chance in making a pressing from an etched image on a sheet of metal. In the case of my "Bougainvillea" This happy accident has subsequently transformed a typical mediterranean shrub into a burgeoning gothic extravaganza of foliage.

The final product couldn't be further from the effect I had initially anticipated, but the fun of playing with colour in etching is that end result will not be as representational as a painting.

PLEASE NOTE: I have 1 framed at £150 and 4 unframed at £120 each. The colours used are the same in all 5 pressings, but have been applied differently each time so that every pressing is unique.

Materials used:

Colour zinc etching pressed onto Fabriano Paper
