I love the vibrant bougainvillea colors! They not only brighten a garden or a yard, but bring a feeling of joy and brighten the mood. When I come across a scene like this, I am inspired to paint it and to try to transfer this feeling onto canvas. I painted this piece en plein air in Carmel-by-the-Sea during The Carmel Art Festival.

Materials used in creating this artwork:Oil paint on Claessens linen mounted on 1/8" Sintra panel. The painting surface is protected with a coat of Gamvar varnish. It is listed unframed, and will require a frame to hang. It will fit in a standard (USA) 11"x14" frame.
