This is an original limited edition etching of a sailing boat at Bosham, in Chichester Harbour, set in front of Holy Trinity Church. There is a tradition that King Canute's daughter was buried in the church, Bosham was also the principal home of Harold Godwinson who was defeated by William the Conqueror. This etching was made using a zinc plate, using a soft ground, the image was finished with shading made with the use of an aquatint. The edition is variable; it consists of 25 prints, all printed on off-white cotton velvet Somerset paper using black printers ink. The variation includes blue water in the foreground and a white or red sail that can be striped.
