'Hiraeth' is a Welsh word with no direct translation into English, but which has the sense of a nostalgic yearning for place or home lost to time and existing mainly in the imagination and emotion.
The landscape where I live on the borderlands between England and Wales evokes this feeling for me, and this painting-which forms part of my 'Borderlands' series- attempts to capture something of its elusive quality.
It's painted using professional artist quality acrylics on deep edge canvas and has a layer of varnish for protection; it has deep edges which are painted white.
The painting is initialled in the lower right front and is labelled/signed in full on the reverse. It is unframed, and has picture hooks and cord on the back so it's ready to hang.
The painting will be carefully packaged and sent tracked with a reportable carrier. A Certificate of Authenticity can be included if requested.
Please note that the shipping costs quoted are the maximum for the destination country and the package size/weight. If there is a discrepancy between the estimated and actual postage costs, I will ask Artfinder if they can reimburse the difference to the buyer.
Thank you for your interest in this painting. I would be delighted to answer any questions about it, so please get in touch if there is anything you would like to ask.

International buyers please be aware that any import duties/taxes or charges are not included in the painting price or shipping costs: these are entirely the responsibility of the buyer and cannot be reimbursed later. The artist is also not responsible for any additional costs related to delays in transit or at customs. Customers are requested to make their own enquiries regarding any such additional charges which may apply in their country.
