Acrylic colour on Thai handmade mulberry paper, deckled edges, 10.5 x 13.5 inches
This is a fun simple painted sketch improvised from its basic pencil guidelines.
The handmade parchment type paper absorbs like a blotter so working with this paper is different from regular watercolour papers. Then the uneven sides also adds to the sketching mood of this expressionist painting. The effect is unique.
I occasionally like to return to this traditional mulberry paper handmade in Thailand. It’s a thick parchment type paper, strong yet pliable. I have the paper made to this size to get the deckled edges which adds to the textural effect. The close up picture is to get a feel for the texture and brush strokes of the painting. Then there’s the work in progress.

Please note that you can purchase in one order up to 3 paintings of this same size (small painting category) or smaller to be included in the same 1 shipping fee.
When considering framing bear in mind to not cover up the deckled edges. This is one of the specialties of the painting, one of its charms. It is best displayed framed with a cut mat board around the painting so as not to cover the edges, thereby putting some space between the art and the glass and bringing depth to the framed art. It can also be framed simply with backing board and pressed with glass over the front without causing damage.
