« Bonaparte’s flycatcher » is a unique work of art that beautifies your surroundings like a jewel.
The pure gold and high-quality powder pigments guarantee shine and quality.
This artwork is made with egg tempera, and it is part of a small series-homage to the artist and ornithologist Audubon.
TECHNIQUE
Egg tempera is the painting technique used by medieval and Renaissance artists to bring fascinating works to life. They enrich churches, monasteries and museums to this day. The painting is done with light and dark tones of different thicknesses and is applied layer by layer on top of each other. The white background reflects the light falling on its surface back through the semi-transparent tempera. An "inner light" radiates from the picture.
MATERIALS
All items in the image are of the highest quality craftsmanship. The aged wooden boards with a slightly curved surface and a bow at the top are made by Swiss carpenters. The primer, applied with up to six layers, consists of chalk mixed with organic glue. The tempera is freshly prepared by emulsifying the pigments with egg yolk. The pure gold leaf is also handmade by a well-known Florentine producer.
MY MESSAGE
Time, patience and dedication are the ingredients that make up my artistic work. They should put the viewer in awe and wonder at the wonders of nature, and in this series-homage to Audubon, also to the beauty of the drawings resulting from years of work by a great naturalist.
