ORIGINAL OGNYAN CHITAKOV ARTWORK !!!

2022, "Bombur" - stone wall sculpture, ready to hang

This original melted volcanic rock wall sculpture is one of the latest artworks of the talented Bulgarian contemporary professional sculptor Ognyan Chitakov, deeply inspired by postmodernism, expressionism and fantasy. The artwork represents one of the dwarf characters from J. R. R. Tolkien's novels The Hobbit and The Lord Of The Rings. Bombur was a Dwarf who accompanied Thorin Oakenshield and Bilbo Baggins on their journey to the Lonely Mountain as part of the company, alongside his brother Bofur and cousin Bifur. Bombur was noted as the fattest Dwarf in the company.

The artist's concept is to melt the artwork's stones at high degree temperatures, reaching the point where they melt, going back to their origin magma state and then slowly cooled down. This way the artist restarts the formation of the stone material and brings it naturally back to a new organic shape and name it after one of Tolkien's fantasy characters. The wall sculpture is one extraordinary melted red tuff masterpiece and exquisite modern home wall décor.

"Each stone material is alive and has a soul. I never ignore it and its gravity as well. I try to give each artwork the feeling of lightness." ... by the artist
