‘Body Politic’ is a sculpture that delves into the concept of identity, examining the tension between our perceived autonomy over self-definition and the external forces that shape and redefine it. While individuals may feel empowered to control their identities, these constructs have become increasingly fluid, often influenced—or even appropriated—by others, corporations, and authorities.

Through its design, the sculpture embodies the multifaceted nature of identity, reflecting the different roles we play with family, friends, colleagues, and in the digital world. It invites viewers to engage with the complexity of identity by prompting them to reflect on how they are perceived by others versus how they perceive themselves.
