Original artwork description:
One of my experiments with monochromatic glazes from late 2019, this one was influenced by old black and white photography form the Thirties. This whole series of experiments was about working up my underpainting stage to finish instead of adding colour. I later went on to use what I had learnt on my The Big Sky series of paintings. The location is the Boboli Gardens that overlook Florence, Italy.
