Original artwork description:

An inviting California seaside village, with little houses nestled in among the landscape and a timeworn dock in the foreground. Soft light warms the scene and creates rich shadows and reflections. I used a thick paint application to show the texture of rough rock edges and the multilayer structure of the foam on the water. The vertical and geometric shapes of the boat masts offer nice contrast to the organic forms in the middle ground and soft elements in the distance.


Materials:
Oil paint on Medium Extra Fine Oil-primed, slightly textured hand-made linen canvas. Canvas is stretched on solid pine 7/8"D stretcher bars. Oil-primed surface is specifically designed to provide beautiful results with oil paints. Painting is protected with a coat of Gamvar Varnish, that gives the work a unified and protective surface. Unframed, wired on the stretcher bars, and ready to hang.
