A serene harbor scene is depicted with small boats floating on a calm blue sea, under a light sky. One boat in the foreground has a person seated inside, while the other watercraft appear moored in the background. A very simple motif with boats on the sea that I painted from the balcony of a hotel in the Greek village of Bali on the island of Crete. In creating this piece, I used oils to capture the serene yet vibrant activity of a harbor. The blending of impressionism and realism mirrors the fluidity and realism of life by the sea. I chose a palette that reflects the deep blues and lively colors of the water, contrasting with the earthy tones of the boats. This painting is an ode to the tranquil chaos of marine life, inviting the viewer to feel the breeze and taste the salt in the air, bringing a sense of calm and liveliness to any space it adorns.
