This is the scene from a small town of Marshall in Marin county. I love visiting and painting in these small quaint towns along Tomales Bay. Barely 40 miles from boisterous San Francisco, they offer tranquility, open spaces, beautiful scenery, dotted with coves, beaches, and caves, and backed by eucalyptus and pine forests.
The long, slender bay separates the Point Reyes Peninsula from the mainland. On the western side of the bay, the Point Reyes Peninsula is primarily dedicated to a 71,000-acre park, complete with pristine beaches, hiking trails, and unobstructed views of the coastline. On the eastern side, a series of small communities line the waterfront.
Materials and details: Oil on linen canvas mounted on a 12"x12" birch wood panel. Painting is protected with a coat of Gamvar varnish. The painting is unframed.
