A plein air painting created on-site on Lake Nokomis Parkway in Minneapolis. Features a close-up view of a white magnolia blossom with a pink "blush" on the petals. Also shows a glimpse of the delicate branch, leaves, and buds of the tree. This blossom was painted onsite, outdoors but the background was created in studio through a 3-step process of masking the flower, creating the dripping and splashing effects in the background with casein paint, and finishing the surface with oil glazes. The background contains varied shades of blue with tints of purple, red, and yellow which compliment the colors of the blossom and branch. This piece is framed in a 1" wide frame with a white finish and is ready to hang. It will add soothing elegance to any room it graces. It could also make an exceptional gift for a birthday, anniversary, bridal shower, or for a child or grandchild's room.
