Original artwork description:

Karin’s artistic journey unfolds through the digital synthesis of images, culminating in entirely novel visual compositions. Known initially for her striking portraits, she has expanded her repertoire to include abstract works and landscapes, all crafted using the same foundational approach. The main difference lies in her portraits, which she produces in limited editions of up to 25 pieces, while her abstract and landscape paintings are unique creations, requiring greater effort and detailed execution.
After finalizing her designs on the computer, she has them printed and then skillfully mounts them onto canvas, where the print acts as a base layer. Karin then enriches these prints with generous applications of gel medium, layering them with acrylics, oil paints, oil bars, and chrome finishes. For the final touch, she applies a satin UV-resistant varnish. Employing an array of tools—including brushes, sponges, palette knives, rollers, and her own fingers—she creates artworks characterized by rich textures and profound depth.

Materials used:

Print, heavy gel medium, acrylics, oil, oilbars, satin coating.
