Blue Wave is a realist oil painting on canvas, 24 x 30 inches (approx 61 x 76cm).

Inspired by walks along the English South coast, Christopher Witchall continues his preoccupation with the light, movement and colours of the sea, a movement frozen in time between the ancient past and an endless future.

The artist’s unsentimental approach to his subjects combine two great passions - a love of traditional painting techniques and a fascination with the photographic image. The result of this are paintings that are both painterly and highly realistic.

Blue Wave is painted on a deep edge stretched canvas, so there is no need for framing and can be hung immediately. It is signed on the front bottom right and supplied with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
