Original artwork description:

Inspired by many long walks over Dartmoor and the Welsh mountains I was interested in getting a good deal of vibrant colour and texture into one small painting. As a result this is probably one of my favourite paintings; I think its the blue of the sky! The combination of yellow and purple tones in the landscape is really lovely. The sky was created with brushes though it still affords a little texture and certainly lots of energy. The foreground is heavily textured, having been applied with my ever favourite palette knives. This creates something of a 3D/more realistic effect as the background is genuinely more distant than the foreground. I have set the painting (on deep edge canvas) within an open box frame so that the purchaser can see what the painting will look like should they choose to frame it. The painting is offered for sale without the frame. It is of course ready to hang as it is. The sides have all been painted to allow for immediate hanging.
