A stunning cornflower blue sky above golden fields of yellow summer grasses. This is an uplifting and hopeful image that it made me feel hope for the tomorrows yet to come.
The image was captured in a modern impressionist style using my camera like a paintbrush. My vision of the world is dreamy and colourful, the happy combination of colours that are intense and happy on their own but put them together......then you really appreciate them.

Made on the Island of Orkney in the north of Scotland where pollution is just about zero. The quality of the light this far north is quite remarkable, it has a sharpness that seems to intensify the colours of the landscape like a magic magnifying glass set to colour. This is an island of BIG skies.........the sky overwhelms everything. The land is made up of interconnecting stretches of fields between pools of water. It softly rolls in gentle curves like a wavy line across a page and above, is this marvellous mass of blue above and often below.

This is simply the most fabulous watercolour paper with a delicate texture and holds colour for a lifetime. Canson have been making paper for over 450 years and their paper was used by Picasso, Ingres, Miro and Warhol to name but a few. The inks I use are state-of-the-art non fade Epson Ultrachrome K3 with Vivid Magenta.

Your print is signed, titled and numbered in the bottom corners and is prepared with a generous white border to make it easy to mount. The print is carefully wrapped in acid free tissue then shipped rolled in a sturdy art tube.
