Undoubtably the most beautiful place I have ever seen or ever shall see

This is Whitehaven Beach on Whitsunday Island, Queensland, Australia.
A combination of slow swirling currents, pristine water and the shallow passage form the basis of these remarkable colours, but the biggest factor is that this is one of the few places in the world where the sand is almost pure silica.
This means it is absolutely, completely and utterly pure white. So pure white, in fact, that the intense Australian sun barely heats it up and it is perfectly pleasant to walk on in bare feet at the height of the day.

I have done nothing more than use a polarizing filter on my lens to remove reflections from the sea and let the bright sand cut through the water to give the beautiful ranges of blue you see here; true beauty needs no enhancement.
