I love to paint hands – they have the ability to eloquently tell a story without embellishment which suits my penchant for simplicity perfectly. They are difficult to paint but it is so rewarding when it all comes together. I love the warmth in this piece – the colours seem to emit a glow which is reflected in the model’s insouciant pose.
