Original artwork description:

I wanted to make a series of feathers not only as I have a fascination with birds, but also as an experiment to challenge the nature of mosaic. I attempted to capture the delicate and fine nature of a feather by using thin strips of glass.
In this blue green feather I have used strips of glass that are set on edge to show the fleck inside, my hand-gilded gold coloured metal leaf glass and some pretty milliefiori glass stones. The feather is set in a background of a white cement mixture. I spray painted the box frame gold which comes with glass front.
