Recently, I have been living in Turkey, which blooms and bears fruit all year round, especially here on the Mediterranean coast. It so happens that my house is not far from the farmers' market, where I regularly admire and buy fruits and vegetables, which, with their magnificence, can drive an artist crazy.
I need to digest what I see in this market, and my stomach can only satisfy this desire a little. But the canvas and paints, and the time spent at the easel help me to fully realize my delight and enjoyment of wonderful forms, colours, and even the smell of ripe fruits. I see the abundance of nature, the generosity and love of Mother Earth, and the farmer's hard work. You should have seen these wonderful people, grandparents, young women and men, as well as their many children, who sell their crops from dawn to dusk.
It's so nice to smile and thank them while accepting from their hard-working hands the most delicious figs I've ever tasted, or fragrant strawberries that are sold here all year round! I will also definitely paint strawberries, but for now I am publishing a small piece with figs.
