At night and deep into the evening, all old cities look alike. Have you noticed that?
That's why the towns in my painting are not named by name. You can imagine any city you like. I love St Petersburg very much, but it's definitely not; it's more like one of the cities in Italy or Spain. I wanted to paint the city in two or three colours, and I succeeded.
