Original artwork description:

I was drawn to this composition for two primary reasons, the textures and the possible story of this old blue door. I found all the varied textures interesting, the weathered plywood of the door, the stone and brick wall, the old roof tiles and the greenery. I also wondered about the narrative of the door, the paint is faded and worn, ivy and grasses are growing up the doorway, and moss has started growing under the eaves, but the foreground grass is mowed, the stepping stones are cleared, and the Dutch door is open.
