This painting is part of a series of cityscapes inspired by my trips to Greece.
This one depicts an abstract impression of a church cupola in Oia Village, Santorini.
I found the inspiration for this painting one morning in Santorini, while taking my coffee on a terrace overlooking this magnificent scenery.
The first time I discovered the magic of Greece was in 1998… I went back in 2001 for my Erasmus architecture scholarship and I spent there almost a year. I traveled again to the Cyclades islands in the summer of 2017 to get more inspiration for my paintings and to enjoy those wonderful places.
I fell in love with Santorini from the very first moment… with the magic of the place, with the amazing light, the breathtaking views, the colors, the unique minimalist architecture … A fairy tale setting surrounded by the sea… Everything there impressed me and inspired me so much.
