Artwork description:

I love to play with colour and this subtle shift from the black and white version to petrol blue suits the mood of this playful image. It began as a rough sketch (a doodle on the back of a receipt) which was worked directly onto a new zinc plate. Most of the tones created by adding an aquatint have been kept light, giving the impression of an ink drawing. The combination of this ancient technique with fresh ideas makes original work. Each print is handcrafted using a press and is one of a limited edition of 40. Orders are carefully wrapped in acid-free tissue, rolled in a thick walled cylinder and dispatched within 4 days.

Materials used:

Somerset Satin paper 250g, Intaglio printing inks, zinc plate
